The concept of Belfast One has been created in response to the opportunity for the city to create a Business Improvement District - a specific area where businesses work together and invest in agreed services, projects and special events.
The driving spirit behind this concept is that the City Centre should be the heart of Belfast, a place to enjoy, and a catalyst for growth, change and innovation. It should be a place to visit and a place to aspire to. Belfast One should enable the City Centre to collectively respond to new challenges and allow all businesses to grow and prosper. The brand for Belfast one needed to reflect this by reflecting the personality of the city in a diverse, original and contemporary way.
We talked to the people who really have a stake in Belfast One – owners and managers of commercial and retail outlets – to find out what their ambitions, needs and aspirations are for the city centre and how the creation of a Belfast One brand could assist them in attracting more footfall, a greater awareness of the city's potential and a closer working relationship between businesses.
The brand captures the reality of the Belfast experience while communicating the diverse nature of the people who come to enjoy it. The truth is that a visit to Belfast city centre is different for everyone and each of us seeks out our favourite places and hidden gems. This brand attempts to capture this sense of diverse energy under a single point of purpose.
